Among the species available for exports include fresh and dried fish: Tilapia, nile perch. Lake Victoria contains over 500 species of fish, including 300 endemic species of the haplochromis species genera and everal endemic tilapiines (eg. Oreochromis esculentus and o. Variabilis).
